I just began reading this book called "Aristole and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe" I am just on chapter 11 and I already like the book. One of the two main characters is a boy Aristole who is a Mexican-American bored boy who is not interesting. The Second boy is called Dante. Unlike Aristole, he is full of abilities and gets lost in art and poetry. They both meet up and develop a friendship. They both share secrets. Aristole says things like,"Guess So", "Whatever", and "Sure". Dante says things like, "Nice to meet you", "If you want, I can help you." Aristole is a static character right off the bat, I only read a few chapters and it seems like he is going to end up being a dynamic character. This is the sentence in which the boys met, "...So I just kept to myself and sort of floated along. Not that I was having fun. That's when I heard his voice, kind of squeaky. "I can teach you how to swim."(17)

I started reading this second book called "October Sky". I only read the first chapter. There isn't real dialog that explains anything about the main character or any characters. However I found out a lot about him. The main character sounds like a free, athletic, adventurous, daring boy, yet he had loved to read and be responsible. In the story, he sounds like he just wants fun. One example is," Coalwood was surrounded by forests and mountains dotted with caves and cliffs and gas wells The setting of the story is in a town named Coal wood, during the Cold-War. Its own town has conflict with a mining station.

This book called "Rocket Boys", revolves around a boy named Sonny. Ever since he saw Sputnik, he was fascinated by the spacecraft and space exploration. He tries to build a rocket by himself by scratch. However his life relationship with his father keeps stooping him, this is an external conflict. Since he was little their relationship changed when his parents were fighting over his future. His father says he will work in the coal mines, mean while his mom says he is different. They got into an ugly argument, where his mom had a new perspective of Sonny and where she began telling him the quote,"No, you're not." His dad sees him low and sometimes pretends as if he doesn't exist. He pays more attention to his older son, who is a football player. Homer never did anything wrong, his parents started the conflict which damaged him and his father. Even he knows that he doesn't like him Some quotes from the books are, "Why doesn't Dad like me? I asked her. Mom looked as if I had slapped her in the face. She was quiet for a moment, obviously chewing over my question." Another one is," He slammed the receiver down. I watched him throw open the hall closet and snatch his jacket and hat. He rushed passed me without a glance, just as is I didn't exist, and went out the back door."(Page 45)

Catching Fire, The main character in this book is this Katniss. A fearless teenage girl. She is the victor of the 74th Hunger Games and survived the Quarter Quell. She has the strength of a wolf, yet she is very caring as she took her sisters place in the Hunger Games, not to mention she survived a Quarter Quell, a special Hunger Game held every 25 years where all alive victors from past Hunger Games fight in the arena to death. She always thinks about her. From 333-335, She hears screams that sound exactly like her younger sister. She immideately thinks it's her and runs towards the source of the sound trying to save her. Her allies try to stop her and she is determined to see the source of the sound. She becomes paranoid that they tortured her. Its already obvious that she is a dynamic character. She especially changes at the end when she finds out that her own district has been destroyed. One small piece of evidence is," I recognize that voice. It's the same one he uses to approach wounded animals before he delivers a deathblow. I instinctively raise my hand to block his words but he catches and holds on tightly. "Don't" I whisper. But Gale is not one to keep secrets from me. "Katniss, there is no District 12."(391)

In this book called, In the Days of the Pharaohs: A Look at Ancient Egypt, it talks about how Egypt was when it was an ancient civilization. Some things I discovered were; That scienists were only able to analyze DNA of the former rich egyptians because they were preserved (Pg - 13), Daily used objects were commonly found in the tombs of the preserved (Pg - 18), and the pyramids were built on some 9 million cubic feet of limestone (Pg - 59). From what I also found out was that the pyrmids were built so tall because in nature height represents power, Like when an animal is about to fight another, it tries to get at tall as it can to resemble power. The pyramids were also a symbol of power as it says "Look at what we can do, what can you do?" Multiple civilizations also used this teqnique like the Aztecs, Mesopotamians, and including the Chinese.
Source - Documentary about pyramids, name unknown.

They reported that his uncle, who also was his legal guardian, has died in a "car crash".In page 2, "And Alex already knew. He knew from the way the police stood there, akward and unhappy. Alex was torn but shown dignity by this incident because he never met his parents and he was close to him. "He had never met his parents. They had both died in another accident, this one only a plane crash, a few weeks after he had been born.(Page - 2)" (The dad died in an assasination done by the MI6 because he worked fr the enemy side called "Scorpia"...Mentioned in a book that ended the series.)
